End Poverty Campaign event
12 noon Sunday, September 21
Our president, Bill Blackman, is the featured speaker with his talk on Empowerment - change your life, change the world during an openly spiritual service, 12 noon at historic Chelsea Community Church.

When the church was opened more than 170 years ago, its 100-foot bell tower was one of the tallest structures in New York. Clement Clarke Moore, author of the famous poem that starts, “Twas the night before Christmas,” was their organist.

The building includes beautiful Tiffany stained glass and still has its original pews. The wrought iron fence and gates are circa 1790 but don’t look a day over 210. :).

Free, no tickets or RSVP required!

Directions
     It’s in a beautiful, 19th Century neighborhood at 346 West 20th St. between 8th and 9th Avenues, fairly close to A, C, E, L, 1, 2, & 3 subway stations as shown on this map.

If walking, taking a bus or cab, you’ll want to keep several blocks away from the route of the People’s Climate March.

If you’re coming by subway, there should be no problem - the demonstration stays many blocks away. It starts 11:30 AM at Columbus Circle (59th St. & Eighth Avenue) and will probably take over an hour to reach its end at 11th Avenue & 34th St. the front and back of the train may be less crowded than the middle.
