and needs. Representing many different ethnic groups and backgrounds, AIC supporters have
a deep commitment to preserving our common heritage as Americans and to helping educate

The New
York Association for New Americans (NYANA) has developed the Family Heritage
Documentary Project to strengthen literacy skills among youth in New York City public
schools, and to assist teachers and administrators in addressing the New York State and
New York City standards in English Language Arts, the Arts, U.S. History, and Global
History. The Project teaches students to utilize photography and writing to document the
history of their families and immigrant communities in New York.

description of the Family Heritage Documentary Project, with contact details for
