When you believe in things that you don’t understand
then you suffer. At the end of every hard day, people find some reason
to believe. Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity. Unshakable faith
is faith that has been shaken. Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole
staircase, just take the first step. Hold
faithfulness and sincerity as first principles. For
modes of faith, let graceless zealots fight; Faith
consists in believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe. It
is not enough that a thing be possible for it to be believed.
