Although this program was created especially for seniors, people of all ages can join in too. Self expression encourages people to think more deeply about important issues while motivating them to act for positive change. We often include our Environmental BingoSM game - a fun way to learn easy, effective ways that you can help protect our environment. Participants can also write letters to the media or their elected representatives, asking for changes in policy that may help millions of people. Some of their art and writing may be displayed on our website and many other places for the entire world to see. At our events, participants learn from program volunteers about the environment, poverty or other important issues and effective ways to make a difference. Seniors for Change works with seniors in nursing homes, community centers, homeless shelters, assisted living facilities and other locations. This program was created by Hearts & Minds Network, Inc., a nonprofit organization in New York City. Our mission is to help people get to the roots of pressing needs in society. We work to reach as many people as possible, directing each one to the most effective resources for themselves and others. This program was created to help seniors to reach more people. Starting in New York City, we eventually will expand nationally and internationally. We already have influenced millions of people to get involved for the environment, poverty, human rights, addictions and other important issues. With our website - http://www.change.net - and national publicity efforts, Hearts & Minds works locally in NYC, nationwide and internationally.
