Gain experience in strategic planning and implementation. Experienced people work with those who like to learn. Together we’ll work to help end extreme global poverty.
Choose what you like
Develop skills in your choice of activities. You can later switch groups. Over time, you may find increasing responsibilities and opportunities.
Even if you are fairly new to an activity, you may be able to help and learn from others.
Please note: Not all activities are open to everyone. It depends on your interests, skills and aptitude. For example, there may be limits to your participation in website development, IT, design*, writing*, art*, video*, photography*, interior design*, carpentry, or if your English is limited.

GENERAL
Participate in a wide range of activities.
MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
Grassroots Organizing and Advocacy – recruit and work with citizen activists.
Social Media – use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram to recruit supporters, raise funds and more.
Marketing – may include strategic planning and a wide range of other activities.
Research – primarily online research on poverty statistics and most effective programs. In future, may also include surveys and focus groups to evaluate and improve our marketing.
Journalism – currently limited to advanced writers and editors interested in the challenges and solutions of global poverty.
Public Relations – for publicity campaigns: press releases and other marketing materials. Contact major media, including blogs, newspapers, magazines, social media, radio and television.
Advertising** – general use and development of skills in advertising and marketing to promote our work and website.
Ad Sales** – cultivating sponsorships for our work.
Fundraising – crowdfunding and personal solicitation are most active. There may be some special events, corporate and foundation fundraising, planned giving and more.
Event Planning** – organize fundraising events from a small dinner to a Hearts and Minds Walkathon.
Volunteer Recruitment & Personnel – recruit, communicate with and supervise volunteers in our office and worldwide.
COMPUTERS, TECH & WEBSITE
Tech Support – IT hardware and software. Much of this requires being in our office.
Website Development – can include design, programming, management or promotion for our WordPress and CRM website. Without high level experience, the role for back end, PHP and MySQL may be limited. We will shift to SaaS.
CREATIVE & DESIGN
Arts – arts management and/or fine art, illustration or photography primarily for our website. We’re interested in seeing samples of your work.
Art Direction/Design – work on our website and printed materials.
Copywriting – promotional writing for website, publicity and printed publications.
Creative Writing** – essays, poetry or short stories that must be of high quality and directly related to helping end extreme poverty.
Video – write, shoot, edit or promote our videos.
Youth for ChangeSM** and Seniors for ChangeSM** – art, education and activism combined.
MANAGEMENT, FINANCIAL, LAW
Accounting and Financial Management – can include bookkeeping, financial reports, analysis of financial info from other organizations. We seek those with an MBA, CPA or at least a year of full-time, paid bookkeeping experience. QuickBooks experience is a plus.
Law and Regulatory Compliance – can include employee, volunteer, member and government relations; intellectual property; avoiding libel, liability, and other legal exposure; regulatory compliance; and insurance. We seek those with at least law school experience.
Office – office management or clerical work.
Carpentry** and Interior Design** – design or crafting improvements for our office space.
FOREIGN LANGUAGES & TRANSLATION**
Translate our fundraising materials from English to your native language. You could fundraise in your language.
